Leila Hoteit, Yassmin Abdel-Magied, Sakena Yacoobi

A couple of days ago I downloaded the TED app and started searching for interesting videos on Islam and/or the Middle East. I easily found plenty: here are my favourites so far.

  1. Saudi Leila Hoteit teaches three lessons on success she’s learnt through hard work and admirable resilience in a sector, and country, where women really have it difficult.
  2. Sudanese-Australian Yassmin Abdel-Magied invites to go beyond initial perceptions when looking at a woman who covers her head.
  3. Afghani Sakena Yacoobi retells how she turned Talibans into teachers (plus, she has the cutest accent!).

Happy watching 🙂
